Planting and care

The Lankon Lily likes to be in full sun with its base in the shade. Plant it 10 cm (4in) deep in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost and preferably acidic. Keep the soil moist but not excessively wet. They enjoy the winter cold, which allows them to establish their roots. Be careful of spring frosts that can damage young shoots. Watch out for the lily beetle in spring. This small red insect hides under the leaves and devours them. There is no treatment available, only manual "harvesting" of the insect is effective. Wear gloves and remove them gently every week during April. Our Tip: Lilies are well-suited for container gardening. Plant 1 to 5 bulbs in a deep pot. Water lightly and place your pots in a frost-free area. Bring them outside in spring to fully enjoy them.
