Our selection of Ceanothus or Californian Lilacs with spring flowering, blooming between April and late May. These are evergreen bushes like Ceanothus arboreus 'Concha', the cultivars 'Italian Sky' or 'Skylark' prized for their flowering in blue tones, dazzling and honey-bearing. While blue dominates in these plants, from pale blue to violet blue to ultramarine, there are a few rare varieties with white flowers, such as Ceanothus thyrsiflorus 'Millerton Point'. The flowers of the Californian Lilac are very small, but they are gathered in pretty clusters that bloom abundantly, sometimes covering the entire vegetation. Their habit can be creeping in the case of Ceanothus prostratus, rounded or erect, a beautiful diversity of forms that allows for many uses, such as ground cover, bedding plant or evergreen hedge bush. Less cold resistant than deciduous plants, but better able to withstand drought, these evergreen Ceanothus are perfect for coastal areas and waterless gardens.
