Perfect plants for rocky areas , Saxifrages (Saxifraga in Latin, meaning "stone breaker") are perennial plants forming compact cushion shaped shrubs with evergreen leaf rosettes. While most species live in the mountains between rocks and crevices, some grow in the undergrowth and tolerate more humidity. In general, Saxifrages are undemanding plants, they require little feed and little soil to grow in, therefore they are highly recommended for a rock garden or container gardening, on a sunny terrace for example.
