Sanguisorba

Sanguisorbas are lovely perennials, native to the cold regions of the northern hemisphere belonging to the rosaceae family. They like soils that are rich, fresh and well-draining, but they don't like too much clay or heavy and very wet soils. These sumptuous meadow plants have pinnate, dark green foliage in the middle of which stiff floral stems develop in late spring, adorned with flower spikes in shades of pink, white or purple depending on the varieties.
