Euphorbias are plants with a very variable and original appearance, both in terms of their flowering and their foliage. They are easy to grow, and come in a range of categories (including, annuals, biennials, perennials, and cacti). There are more than 2300 varieties, giving you a wide choice and plenty of oppotunity to find the ones that will thrive in your garden! However, for these Euphorbias to flourish, the soil must be well-drained and deep. They can experience rapid growth and self-seed, but once in place, they do not like to be moved. The exposure needed will depend on the chosen species. For example; a Wood spurge, is an evergreen for very sunny and dry areas, a Purple wood spurge belongs in very shady and humid situations, and a Fireglow spurge, is a perennial resistant to temperatures down to -15°C (5°F).

It is important to remember to wear gloves when handling Euphorbias as they produce a very irritating and toxic latex.

You'll adore them!
