Oriental Poppy seeds

Discover our selection of Oriental Poppy seeds: a hardy and easy-to-grow perennial plant that we love for its huge poppy flowers in various colours, in single or double corollas, sometimes ruffled. Perfectly hardy, it can be sown in sunny flower beds. We also love its beautiful bluish-green foliage and its pretty fruits at the end of the season, perfect for dried bouquets. Sow the Oriental Poppy seeds preferably directly in place, outdoors, from March to May, just below the surface of the soil. You can also sow the Turnefort's Poppy from February to May under cover, without covering the seeds. Germination usually takes 10 to 21 days. Transplant the young poppies when they are large enough to handle, in pots or deep trays, kept cool. An excellent transitional plant for flower beds, the Oriental Poppy blooms during a lull period (after spring blooms and before summer ones). It pairs very well with anise-coloured flowers like Euphorbias or Alchemilla mollis.
