Our range of Marrubium. Marrubium, or marrubs, are perennial bushy plants with woolly leaves. Marrubium vulgare, or white horehound, is the most common variety. It has ovate, wrinkled leaves covered with a light fuzz and its small white flowers appear in summer. Marrubium incanum, or wooly horehound, is characterised by its silver leaves and summer flowering and is used in dry and sunny gardens. Let's not forget Marrubium supinum, or prostrate horehound, with spoon-shaped leaves covered in silver fuzz. A compact variety that produces white or slightly pink flowers in summer, ideal for rockeries and dry gardens.
Marrubium are perfect in rock gardens and borders, adding an interesting texture. They thrive in well-drained soil and full sun. These hardy plants tolerate drought well, making them ideal for dry gardens.
Plant Marrubium in spring or autumn. They require little maintenance, are resistant to diseases and pests, and their flowering attracts bees and other pollinators.

Pruning of summer-flowering shrubs (Indian Lilac, Perovskia, etc.) can be done in winter or spring.
In cold regions as well as with frost-sensitive plants, avoid pruning too early when severe frosts may still occur.
