The Fothergilla genus includes two species of ornamental bushes, Fothergilla major and Fothergilla gardenii, grown for their light, fragrant white spring flowering and magnificent autumn colours. Native to the southeastern United States, Fothergilla are deciduous and hardy shrubs or bushes of modest size which thrive in humus-rich, acidic, non-chalky, moist but well-drained soils and sunny or semi-shaded positions. In spring, they are adorned with upright spikes of white brushes whose fragrance attracts pollinating insects. Their decorative qualities are evident throughout the seasons, providing an original way to complement your flower beds.

You'll adore them!
