Our range of botanical sedums brings together wild stonecrops, or varieties close to the species found in nature. The most well-known, Sedum acre (Biting Stonecrop), forms a low, dense carpet, dotted in summer with small yellow flowers. All have small succulent foliage and are valued for their ability to form groundcover in dry terrain. They are excellent plants for rockeries, dry walls, dry slopes, or paving.

Sedum album ‘Murale’ is a mat-forming white stonecrop which foliage readily takes on a reddish-purple hue in the cold, with a light flowering in summer. Sedum reflexum (reflexed stonecrop) spreads flexible stems adorned with narrow blue-green leaves, then becomes covered with yellow stars. More miniature, Sedum dasyphyllum forms small cushions of bluish rosettes, lovely in pots and between stones. Sedum sexangulare (tasteless stonecrop) is distinguished by its tiny leaves arranged in a spiral, green to russet in the sun, and its yellow summer flowering.
These perennials thrive in full sun and in poor, stony, very well-draining soil (even calcareous), and particularly fear stagnant moisture in winter in heavy soils. Plant them on a mound or in a soil/gravel mix and water only to encourage establishment.
