Green Echinaceas offer an unusual colour among summer perennials. Their flower heads display shades of apple green, lime green or pale green, sometimes tinged with pink. Plant them in full sun, in borders, or in a large container. Hardy and pollinator-friendly, they are generous and easy to grow.

Among our range, the greenest variety is Echinacea purpurea ‘Green Jewel’, with its apple green flowers adorned with a deeper green cone. It is perfect in fresh cut flower arrangements or paired with white, blue or purple blooms. 'SunSeekers Apple Green' forms a compact clump, whose apple green heads take on slight white reflections as they mature. Offered as seeds, Echinacea ‘Alan’s Pride’ stands out with its lime green flowers with an amber heart borne on sturdy stems, useful in borders or as cut flowers.

Green coneflowers form beautiful partnerships with medium ornamental grasses, white gauras, purple salvias or pink dahlias. Green soothes bright colours and brings freshness to very sunny borders. Gardeners who adore these unusual shades will find more inspiration in our feature “7 great pairing ideas with green flowers ”.
