Tarragon or Dragon Herb - Artemisia dracunculus - is a perennial aromatic and culinary plant cultivated for the subtle and light aroma of its leaves. This herb with an aniseed flavour can be used both fresh and dried. It is one of the highly esteemed culinary herbs used to flavour salads, omelettes, or poultry. Sowing can be done under shelter in March or April, or directly in the soil from May to July once the soil has warmed up. Tarragon, including Russian Tarragon, prefers sunny locations with rich, light, and well-drained soil. Its antioxidant and anti-allergic properties are well-documented.
