Hydrocotyle

Our range of Hydrocotyles. These aquatic purifying and oxygenating plants are known as Hydrocotyle vulgaris, commonly known as Water Pennywort, and Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides 'Variegata', or Variegated Marsh Pennywort. These species are essential in a pond or water feature. Hydrocotyle vulgaris is characterised by its tender green foliage forming a luxuriant carpet, ideal for wet areas or pond edges. While Hydrocotyle sibthorpioides 'Variegata', with its small round and densely packed leaves delicately edged in white and pink, creates excellent vegetative cover in water gardens or simply moist soil.

Hydrocotyle, also known as Water Buttercup, is an aquatic perennial or wetland edge plant that thrives in full sun or partial shade. It is easy to grow in consistently moist soil and can be used as a pond edge plant, submerged in pots, or even in a terrarium for certain varieties like Hydrocotyle leucocephala.
