Panicum virgatum, which primarily originates from the American continent, is one of the few ornamental species of the genus, of which there are a range of varieties. This grass with a rigid, lush habit produces attractive colourful, blue, orange, green or red foliage according to the variety. Its abundant small, often brown flowers contribute a sense of lightness to the garden.
