Flax or linum is a plant grown primarily for its fibres, seeds, or oil. In our meadows, perennial varieties create beautiful pastel blue waves. So why not use them in our gardens to create pretty colourful cushions? They are easy to grow, flax thrives in any type of soil that is low in water but well-drained and in full sun. Propagation is done in spring by taking cuttings of tips of the stems . Annual species are sown in fertile and moist soil in May. Used for borders or flower beds, Linum flavum or Yellow Flax and Linum perenne or Blue Flax for flower beds or rock gardens. Benefits: While its fibres are used in textiles, flax seeds and oil are rich in omega-3.

You'll love them!
