Rudbeckias are annual or perennial plants that light up gardens in summer with their large daisy-like flowers. These asteraceae, mostly native to North America, belong to a large family of plants with bright yellow, orange, or purple flowers.

Rudbeckia hirta, the most well-known of all, forms small bushes covered in flowers until late summer. It comes in many varieties: 'Cherry Brandy' with mahogany red flowers, 'Cherokee Sunset' with double flowers in a mix of orange, or 'Prairie Sun' with golden yellow flowers.
