The Peach tree (Prunus persica) is a fruit tree from the rose family (Rosaceae) native to Asia Minor. It is hardy and thrives in warm climates. The self-fertile flowers bloom before the leaves, usually from February to mid-March. They can be pink, white, or even red, depending on the variety, and add significant ornamental value to the garden. Peaches are harvested from July to late September, depending on the varieties and regions. The Peach tree is divided into 4 subfamilies: peaches, with white flesh, downy skin, and a free stone. Pavies, with downy skin, yellow flesh that adheres to the stone. Nectarines, with glabrous and smooth skin, white flesh, and free stones. And finally, Brugnons, with smooth skin and yellow flesh that adheres to the stone.
