Our range of trees as large container-grown specimens. For an immediate effect in the garden, to create shade or establish a hedge more quickly, choose large-sized trees delivered in XXXL pots (70 to 150 L). They should be planted outside of frost or heatwave periods. You will find deciduous or evergreen species suited to different climates and soils.
The essential Japanese maple (Acer palmatum) offers finely cut foliage and beautiful autumn colours; it appreciates well-drained, non-calcareous soils and sheltered partial shade. The Provence cypress (Cupressus sempervirens ‘Pyramidalis’), evergreen and narrow, is suitable for mild, sunny climates to line a path or break a view. The cork oak (Quercus suber) forms a powerful tree with a corky trunk, ideal for poor, very well-drained, dry soils, including coastal areas. The Ginkgo biloba ‘Eiffel’, with a very columnar habit, fits into small gardens; hardy, it tolerates urban pollution and offers a remarkable golden yellow. Parrotia persica (Persian ironwood) is superb in autumn and resistant to both cold and drought. Also plant a large Cornus controversa ‘Pagoda’ to enjoy its horizontally spreading branches or a well-developed Diospyros kaki ‘Tipo’ to harvest its persimmons more quickly at the end of the season.
Plant your trees in a wide hole, stake them firmly, water generously in the first year and then mulch before summer; at the end of winter, check the ties and remove any dead wood.
