Bushes of medium size with spring flowering, Deutzia are highly appreciated for their compactness and ease of cultivation in free hedges and beds. In late spring, they are adorned with star-shaped flowers, white, pale pink or bright pink, like the varieties 'Pride of Rochester', 'Mont Rose', 'Strawberry Fields' or 'Lavender Time'. Hardy and very easy to grow, they tolerate full sun or partial shade, and thrive in well-drained and rich, acidic or calcareous soils.
