Dianthus, also known as Carnations, are hardy perennial or biennial plants that are easy to cultivate. Carnations form clumps of basal leaves from which emerge lightly scented flowers. The flowers can be single or double, and the colours are usually in shades of white or pink. Carnations can be used to make bouquets.
