Asters are perennial flowers that come in a wide variety of colours and are very floriferous. These plants, blooming in spring, summer, and autumn, thrive in sunny locations with well-drained and light soil. Hybrids such as Aster dumosus, novae-angliae, and novi-belgii will benefit from being divided every 2-3 years to rejuvenate the stump and protect them from powdery mildew.
