The Spiraea are very diverse shrubs, appreciated for their generous flowering and compact foliage. They grow quickly, developing a rounded shape with dentate, green leaves. From April to August, depending on the varietiesflowering occurs in clusters of small flowers ranging from pure white to pink. The 'Goldflame' Japanese Spiraea (80cm (32in)) has bronze foliage that turns yellow and then coppery orange in autumn. The Spiraea vanhouttei (2.50m (8ft)) bears white spring flowers on a light and graceful shoot. Hardy, Spiraeas grow in ordinary, consistent soil, even slightly chalky in sunny or semi-shaded locations.

You'll adore them!
