Our range of Iris pseudacorus, also known as yellow flag or marsh iris. These perennial marginal aquatic plants naturally thrive at the edge of ponds or in the damp areas of the garden. The common species, Iris pseudacorus, is recognisable by its bright yellow flowers and its linear, upright foliage, reaching up to 1.20 m in height. It forms dense clumps thanks to its vigorous rhizomes.
It has given rise to several varieties, such as Iris pseudacorus ‘Variegata’ with beautifully variegated cream-yellow and green foliage, and Iris pseudacorus 'Plena', which boasts an astonishing double flower.
Iris pseudacorus thrives in heavy, clayey, or waterlogged soil and can even tolerate flooded conditions. It prefers a sunny to partially shaded position. Plant it in spring or autumn, burying the rhizomes shallowly. Remove spent flower stems and monitor its spread in overly favourable conditions, as it can become invasive.
