White coneflowers brighten up summer borders and are easy to pair in the garden. These sun-loving perennials bear large, white, daisy-like flower heads with green, orange or brown centres, loved by pollinating insects. They can be planted at the edge of borders, in naturalistic planting schemes or in large pots, in well-drained, fairly fertile soil.

Depending on the variety, the white of the petals can be pure white, creamy white or slightly greenish. Echinacea purpurea ‘Alba’ bears white flowers with trailing ligules around an orange cone with greenish highlights. 'Fragrant Angel’ is taller, distinguished by large, fragrant, almost horizontal white flowers with an olive-orange centre. More compact Echinacea Kismet® White displays large pure white flowers whose dark green cone turns golden. 'Milkshake’, full of charm, produces double, creamy white, pom-pom-like flowers, decorative in the garden and in fresh or dried flower arrangements.
