Our yellow climbing roses collection brings a sunny and warm touch to the vertical structures of the garden. From pale yellow to golden yellow, these roses brighten walls, pergolas, or arches. When used wisely, yellow pairs beautifully with dark green foliage, white or purple tones, and can enliven slightly shaded or dull scenes.
The rose ‘Graham Thomas’, by David Austin, remains a benchmark with its large, bright yellow flowers. The delicately coloured old rose ‘Gloire de Dijon’ blends buff yellow and coppery pink on its very double flowers with a complex fragrance. Vigorous ‘Goldfassade’ offers beautiful golden-yellow clusters of flowers, well displayed against glossy foliage.
Rosa banksiae ‘Lutea’, thornless and spring-blooming, is a charming and vigorous climber adorned with small, light yellow pompon flowers. ‘Golden Showers’ is floriferous in summer, displaying semi-double, bright yellow flowers.
These climbing roses thrive in full sun, in deep, fertile, and well-drained soil. Train the young stems to evenly distribute the flowering over the support, and prune lightly after each flowering to encourage a new wave of flowers, especially for perpetual varieties.
