Mahonia

Mahonia or Oregon Grape is a hardy bush that thrives in shade or partial shade. Its evergreen and decorative foliage gives it an undeniable exotic touch.  Mahonia flowers in winter and is covered with numerous clusters of yellow or orange flowers, depending on the variety, followed by blue berries replacing the faded flowers. The sweet scent of its flowers completes its vibrant flowering.  Mahonia can be grown in any type of soil except compact and very wet soils. The 'Charity' variety is highly fragrant, while the 'Soft Caress' variety has very graphic and non-prickly leaves.
