Our Pink Centaureas. Among this genus, which includes about 400 species, the Mountain cornflower also exists in a soft pink form, the Pink centaurea. In our countryside, the Centaurea jacea or brown knapweed, a perennial plant, blooms, with its pink heads dominating a clump of rough bluish-green leaves in summer. Another beautiful wildflower with pink flowers in our flora is the Scabious centaurea (Centaurea scabiosa), also a perennial, which is present in many regions. In gardens, we also plant the Bella centaurea, a plant that thrives in dry soil and adorns itself in spring with a beautiful light lilac pink pompom-like flowering. Or the Persian centaurea (C. dealbata), hardy and perennial, whose carmine pink flower heads with a white centre dominate in summer a beautiful clump of finely cut leaves. Discover all these countryside flowers, which are undemanding and melliferous, and offer a beautiful range of pink tones.

Robust and highly adaptable, Centaurea is easy to grow in any well-drained soil, even limestone.
