Our Range of Purple Nandina. Nandina, also called "sacred bamboos", are ornamental bushes whose decorative leaf changes colour throughout the seasons. Purple varieties like 'Obsessed Seika', with red young leaves in spring, turn to deep purple in autumn and winter. On the other hand the 'Gulf Stream' variety offers a compact leaf with red and bronze hues all year round, ideal for brightening up a winter garden. 'Plum Passion' bears very fine leaves, evolving from spring purple to summer green, finishing in autumn with red-purple. Don't forget Nandina domestica 'Firepower' which displays flaming red tones in winter, perfect for small gardens or in containers.
Purple Nandina thrive in partial shade or sun in well-drained soil. They are undemanding, resisting cold and drought well once well established.
