Broccoli - Brassica oleracea var. Italica – from the Brassicaceae family is a vegetable-flower grown in the vegetable garden for its inflorescence. Derived from successive selections of wild cabbage, it originates from Southern Italy and is harvested before flowering. Easy to cultivate, Broccoli such as Romanesco Broccoli or Ramoso Calabrese Broccoli require constant moisture. The seeds are sown in late spring for a harvest in late autumn. They are rich in vitamins C, B9, K and pro-vitamin A, as well as minerals and trace elements.
