Description

This plant has a long flowering period.  Each flower lasts for a short time, but they succeed each other for 4 months, and sometimes more, if you take care to cut back the clumps a little during the season. The stump is vigorous and forms beautiful clumps in a short time. The lanceolate foliage somewhat resembles that of an iris. The curious flowers have 3 petals and come in various colours depending on the varieties.

This horticultural variety is not really new since it dates back to 1989 and was obtained by Ets Lepage in Angers, but it really is very pretty with its pale pink flowers, more carmine towards the centre.

Planting and care

This plant has a long flowering period.  Each flower lasts for a short time, but they succeed each other for 4 months, and sometimes more, if you take care to cut back the clumps a little during the season. The stump is vigorous and forms beautiful clumps in a short time. The lanceolate foliage somewhat resembles that of an iris. The curious flowers have 3 petals and come in various colours depending on the varieties.  This plant likes a moist, even wet, soil; even clay and heavy soil does not scare it. However, it thrives in any garden soil as long as it is not too dry in summer. It can tolerate full sun if moisture is not lacking.
