Freesias are beautiful bulb flowers these are ideal for creating fragrant and decorative bouquets from your flowerbeds. Originating from South Africa, this plant develops narrow fan-shaped leaves and flexible flower stalks with compact clusters of single or double flowers that are upright trumpet-shaped in a wide range of vibrant colors. Their fragrance is somewhat reminiscent of jasmine. Only hybrid forms are cultivated. In April, Freesias are planted in poor, fresh, light and sandy soil in a sunny and warm location. The flower stalks need to be staked and watered somewhat moderately. In October you can dig up and store the bulbs in a dry and frost-free place. For indoor flowering starting in February, plant 6 to 8 bulbs in a 15cm (6in) diameter pot  in a mix of garden soil, sand, and seed compost in a bright, well-ventilated, cool location. Freesias are great for potting on balconies or in groups of 50 bulbs in flowerbeds for a spectacular bloom of fragant flowers.

You'll love them!
