Disappointed because of a supplier error. On my order from May, I didn't receive the correct variety (this one has just bloomed with very small white flowers measuring 2/3 cm (1in)).... I also notice that the photo showing the potted version on your website doesn't match... The proper conformity in stock needs to be verified. Analysis: - "variété" is translated as "variety" - "fleur" is translated as "flower" - No spelling or grammatical errors were found in the translated text.

Description

The 'Aline Mayrisch' Rose Bush is an original, highly floriferous and disease-resistant bush. Its turbinate roses, bright red with yellow reverse, are gathered in bouquets and bloom throughout the growing season, enhanced by beautiful glossy green foliage. This variety, created by Orard, pays homage to this Luxembourgish woman of letters and patron who founded the Organisation for Women's Interests in 1906. It obtained the Certificate of Merit in Le Roeulx in 2012. It can be used in flower beds, as well as in pots where it performs very well.

The 'Aline Mayrisch' Rose, launched in 2014, forms a tall bush, with thorny stems, measuring 80 cm (32in) in height and 60 cm (24in) in spread, adorned with very healthy foliage, cut into toothed leaflets of a glossy medium green. Its flowering is abundant from June to September. Its double corollas are gathered in bouquets of 5 to 7 flowers. The tightly closed buds open into round, slightly flattened and well-opened cups. The bright red petals reveal a more or less light yellow reverse, giving the flower all its character. This flowering is not scented. The deciduous foliage falls in autumn.

Cluster-flowered roses allow for the creation of beautiful small hedges, planted mixed along the edge of the terrace or in small shrub flower beds. Combine them with dwarf weigelas, caryopteris and peonies for example. They are good companions for paniculate phlox and tall baby's breath. The modest size and resistance of this 'Aline Mayrisch' Rose make it an interesting variety for all gardens, even small ones, and for growing in large pots. Its uses are numerous, depending on the desires of each gardener: in a monochrome rose bed, as its color can be difficult to match, or in the company of white varieties (Marie Pavie, Swanny). It pairs well with light and easy-to-grow plants such as perennial geraniums (Geranium 'Blue Cloud', 'Anne Folkard', 'Nimbus', 'Orion'), campanulas (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, love-in-a-mist, foxgloves, phlox etc.. Its flowers can be used to create elegant bouquets that delicately perfume the house.

Planting and care

Plant the 'Aline Mayrisch' rose bush from November to March, in ordinary, well-tilled and well-drained soil. Roses prefer clayey soils rather than light soils. In soil that is too sandy, too compact or too dry in summer, it is preferable to bury compost, decomposed manure or leaf compost at the bottom of the planting hole. However, this rose bush fears waterlogged soils in winter. Place it in a sunny location, or at most in partial shade. Roses are demanding plants, so a specific fertiliser will be beneficial at the start of growth, and regularly throughout the flowering period. To encourage new growth, regularly remove faded flowers. Floribunda rose varieties are more vigorous and produce more flowers than large-flowered rose varieties. Therefore, prune the stems to about a quarter of their length (from 4 to 6 eyes from the base of the stem) in late winter. Always prune above an outward-facing bud so that the bush can thicken and the branches do not become tangled in the centre of the branches.
