The technical sheet of your website stated that the cultivation was reserved for experienced gardeners. But it did not mention that a greenhouse at 28°C (82.4°F) was required!!! It is absolutely necessary to specify this point because one can be experienced without having this type of greenhouse. In short, my seeds did not germinate, my heated mini-greenhouse, even on a radiator, never reached 28°C (82.4°F). It is not very correct of you to omit this point.

Description

The Non-Stop ® Mixed F1 Begonias bear the Latin name Begonia x tuberhybrida Non-Stop ® Mixed F1. This race of tuberous hybrid Begonias has been specially selected for the abundance and length of their flowering.

This upright and bushy Begonia reaches a height of 30 cm (11.8 in) with a width of 20 to 30 cm (7.9 - 11.8 in). Its typical Begonia leaves are asymmetrical, dentate, and of a beautiful satin dark green color. The hairy stems, with red highlights, contribute to the decorative beauty of its foliage.

From June to October, an abundant multicolored flowering covers a large part of the foliage. 9 different colors are present in this mix. The flowers are large solitary rosettes, double or semi-double, measuring 7-9 cm (2.8 - 3.5 in) in diameter.

Originally, Begonias live in a cool and shaded environment, sheltered from direct sunlight. But this remarkable race of Begonias can thrive in both full sun and in a shaded location.

Its bushy habit is ideal for flowering flower beds, pots on the terrace, and flower boxes on balconies and windows.

Cultivate the Non-Stop ® Mixed F1 Begonias in pots or flower beds, in rich and moist soil. It is a semi-hardy perennial plant that is sensitive to temperatures below 10°C. Therefore, in autumn, the clumps or pots should be brought indoors, the foliage should be allowed to dry, and then the tubers should be extracted from the soil, brushed, and stored in a dry place until the following spring.

Planting and care

Attention: The seed of Begonia is very fine, delicately open the sachet on two sides with a pair of scissors.

Sow Non-Stop Begonias ® Mixed F1 in February in a seed tray. Use good quality soil mixed with river sand in a 1:3 ratio; a mixture that you will sift on the surface to bind the seed to its substrate. Before sowing, lightly press the substrate with a board and moisten it lightly, preferably by immersing the base of the seed tray in a water tray so that the water rises by capillarity. Sow your seeds delicately. Do not cover the seeds. Place your seed tray in a well-lit area, without direct sunlight, at a temperature of 25°C to 27°C.

The seeds will germinate in 15 to 60 days. As soon as the plants are manageable, transplant them into 7cm (2.8 in) pots. Keep the soil moist but not excessively during growth; water with a fine mist or with a small hand sprayer. Once the plants are strong enough, transplant them into 15cm (5.9 in) diameter pots or directly into your planters, which you will always keep warm (20-24°C). Finally, 15 days before their final placement, gradually acclimate them to a temperature of 15°C.

By the end of May or early June, the temperature in the garden will be warm enough to plant your young plants. Choose a shaded or sunny location. In flower beds, add a good shovel of compost to each planting hole. Space your plants at least 20cm (7.9 in) apart.

Regularly remove faded flowers to maintain beauty and promote renewal.

In autumn, bring the pots indoors and let the foliage dry before extracting the tubers from the soil, brushing them, and storing them dry until the following spring when they can be replanted in pots.
