Our Range of Creeping Thymes. Aromatic, low-growing and fragrant perennials, Thymus serpyllum and its varieties are grown for their scented foliage and their uses in the vegetable garden, in cooking and in the garden. More versatile than common thyme, wild thyme offers a more delicate flavour to grilled dishes, vegetables, marinades and infusions. Its creeping habit is useful in borders and rockeries. It enjoys full sun and well-drained soil. This selection is aimed at gardeners looking for an easy-going, tasty, useful and decorative aromatic plant.

Thymus serpyllum, the classic wild thyme, develops into a low, dense and very fragrant carpet. ‘Elfin’ forms a very compact, small cushion, suitable for small spaces, paving joints and neat plantings. ‘Magic Carpet’ offers a lovely pink flowering that attracts pollinating insects in summer. Alongside these wild thymes, the hybrid Thymus praecox 'Purple Beauty’ also has a creeping habit, scented foliage and delightful rose-purple flowers.
