Peppermints are aromatic perennial plants known for their very fresh, strongly mentholated fragrance. Belonging to the Mentha x piperita group, they can be grown in the vegetable garden, a herb square, a cottage garden or in pots to contain their running roots. Pick their leaves as needed to prepare herbal teas, flavour tea, desserts, fruit salads, cold sauces or to enhance summer dishes. The classic peppermint is the benchmark for its intense, fresh and sharp, mentholated flavour.

Create a space of useful and fragrant herbs by choosing some plants for infusions, herbal teas and teas, including lemon verbena, thyme or other aromatic herbs to dry. Also discover our selection of thymes, widely used in cooking. For further reading, consult our guides « Mint: planting, growing, propagating » and « Growing mint in pots ».
