Our collection of shrubby Salvias with blue flowers. In this category you will find not only varieties derived from Salvia microphyllaS. jamensisS. grahamii, and S. greggii, but also other botanical species such as Salvia chamaedryoidesS. lycioides, and Salvia forreri. Among the must-haves are Salvia 'Blue Note', a small bush covered with unique royal blue flowers, or Salvia microphylla 'Victoria Blue', whose flowers are a deep bluish-violet, an intense and unusual colour. Often classified as 'blue', Salvia microphylla 'Delice Aquamarine' produces a delightful pastel blue-mauve flowering. To form ground cover, consider Salvia forreri, which suckers and has a very long and intensely bright flowering in light blue with touches of white. Also discover Salvia cacaliifolia, a non-hardy species native to Central America with small gentian blue flowers throughout the summer. All these bushy perennials bloom generously between May and October. In general, shrubby sage will grow without problems in a rather mild and sunny climate, but it is preferable to grow it in a pot in regions that are rainy and cold in winter, which allows it to be brought indoors as soon as frost is announced. If you want to plant it outside in a cold region, make sure to offer it well-drained soil and a well-sheltered location protected from cold winds
