Description

The Tilt Symphonie® Miniature Rose is a true gem for compact and floriferous roses lovers. This small bush stands out with its abundant light red to vermilion blooms that brightens up gardens, balconies, and patios from spring to autumn. Thanks to its bushy and compact habit, it fits perfectly in rockeries, borders, or pots, adding a vibrant touch to small spaces. Its dense, glossy, dark green foliage offers a stunning contrast to its delicate flowers. Besides its aesthetic appeal, it boasts excellent disease resistance, ensuring abundant and long-lasting flowering with minimal maintenance.

The Tilt Symphonie® 'Meivraivou' Rose belongs to the Rosaceae family. It is derived among others from the highly floriferous bushes named polyantha roses that produce flowers bunched in clusters. Created and grown by the specialist in modern and high-performing varieties Meilland, its well-branched, bushy habit enables it to reach a height of 40 to 50 cm with a proportionate spread. Measuring around 6 cm in diameter and typically featuring 49 petals, its flowers adopt a classic turbinate shape. They form dazzling clusters in small inflorescences of 2 to 5 flowers. They they make up for their lack of strong fragrance by their vibrant colour and longevity. The bush's foliage is dense, glossy dark green, providing a beautiful backdrop to the blooms. Young shoots show no specific colouration, and the stems, as is often the case with miniature roses, may bear a few thorns. Flowering extends from spring to autumn, enabling you to enjoy its vivid colours for several months.

Very easy to grow, the Tilt Symphonie® Meivraivou Rose adapts equally well in the ground or in containers. It thrives in sunny exposures, essential for abundant flowering. Its soil should be well-drained, rich, and light, with regular but moderate watering to avoid waterlogging. Light pruning after each flowering cycle will encourage new flower buds. Thanks to its compactness and resilience, this rose is perfect for growing in window boxes, planters, or borders. It pairs harmoniously with ground cover roses, low-growing perennials like campanulas, catmints, or lady’s mantles, or even fine-textured grasses to play with contrasting textures. In beds, it creates a spectacular effect alongside Mediterranean plants like lavender or perennial sages.

Planting and care

Tilt Symphonie roses prefer a sunny position (at least 4 to 5 hours of sunlight per day) but sheltered from the scorching midday sun and strong winds. They thrive in loose, well-drained, and fertile soil. They will adapt to any garden provided that the ground is well-prepared and sufficiently rich. To plant your rose, work the soil to a depth of 25 cm, breaking it up finely and adding a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn meal at the bottom of the planting hole. Place your plant, removed from its pot, covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm of soil, backfill, and water thoroughly to eliminate any air pockets. During dry spells, water regularly for a few weeks to encourage root establishment. Also, remember to feed your rose with a special rose fertiliser to stimulate flowering.

Roses often develop spots or look unsightly by late summer, but this does not affect their growth. These spots are not harmful to the plant; it's a natural phenomenon. Follow all our advice to remedy this and read our article: Help: My Roses Have Spots
