Thank you to the team (for order preparation and shipping), the rose bush I received seems healthy. Planted in the ground, near the "Friendly Sweet" variety, I'm now patiently waiting for it to take root...(or not?).

Description

The Bridal Meillandina® Rose is a miniature variety that captivates with the timeless elegance of its flowering. Its compact, bushy habit makes it an ideal plant for balconies, patios, borders, and rockeries, where it adds a touch of refinement and delicacy. Its white flowers warmed with cream at the centre measure around 6 cm in diameter and consist of about fifty perfectly arranged petals in a classic turbinate form. This profusion of petals gives the roses a full and romantic appearance, while their luminous glow contrasts beautifully with the dense, dark green, and glossy foliage. Its abundant, continuous flowering extends from spring to autumn, offering successive waves of blooms that brighten the garden until the first frosts.

Belonging to the Rosaceae family, the Bridal Meillandina® 'Meilmera' Rose is also listed under the name of Bridal Sunblaze® in the international trade. It was selected by Alain Meilland in 1996 and is part of the line of miniature roses most appreciated for their floribundus nature and ease of cultivation. It originates from the Rosa x polyantha, an old hybrid derived from Rosa multiflora and R. chinensis. It forms a small miniature bush of about 35 cm in height, balanced by a similar spread, making it particularly suited to small spaces. Its dense, dark foliage provides a perfect background for its brilliant white flowers. The flowering is abundant and appears in clusters of two to five flowers. Thanks to its continuously flowering nature, this rose offers several successive flowerings, creating a renewed spectacle from spring to autumn. With its excellent disease-resistance, making it a safe choice for gardeners looking for an easy-to-grow and reliable rose year after year.

The Bridal Meillandina® 'Meilmera' Rose thrives in full sun or lightly shaded exposures. It prefers well-drained and fertile soil but also adapts to poorer soil as long as it is watered regularly during dry periods. It is perfectly suited to pot cultivation, where it develops its full ornamental potential on a patio or balcony. In the ground, it pairs elegantly with colourful perennials or miniature roses, forming charming flowering borders. Paired with lavenders, bellflowers, or hardy geraniums, it creates a harmonious display with romantic accents. It blends perfectly with light grasses like Stipa tenuissima, whose fine, dancing stems accentuate the delicacy of its white roses. For a more contrasting setting, it can be accompanied by miniature roses with vibrant hues like a Red Meillandina®. For prolonged flowering, it is advisable to deadhed faded blooms as they appear and to apply a light organic amendment at the start of each season.

Planting and care

The Bridal Meillandina Mini Rose bush prefers a sunny position (at least 4 to 5 hours of sunlight per day) but sheltered from the scorching midday rays and strong winds. It will thrive in loose, well-drained, deep, and fertile soil, preferring a neutral to slightly acidic soil, but adaptable to any garden as long as the ground is well-prepared and sufficiently rich. To plant your rose in a pot, work the soil to a depth of 40 cm, breaking it up well, and place a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant after removing it from its pot, covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm of soil, backfill, and water thoroughly to eliminate any air pockets. During dry weather, water regularly for a few weeks to encourage root establishment. Also, remember to feed your rose with a special rose fertiliser to stimulate the plant's flowering.
