I know it's difficult to cultivate, but if the delivered seedlings were sturdier, it might be better.

Description

The blue Himalayan poppy is a wonder of the botanical world with its flowers having 4 translucent petals in blue or sometimes white, crowned with large yellow stamens.

Be careful, it is very capricious, and its cultivation can be difficult and unpredictable if the conditions do not suit it. But it is so unique! Light, peaty soil. Keep moist in summer.

Planting and care

The blue Himalayan poppy is difficult to cultivate. It is best reserved for green thumbs, in cool regions, in shaded areas, on soil that remains moist even in summer, but well-drained to prevent root rot even in winter. Plant in a mixture of soil and turf, in moist, neutral or acidic soil. The flowering in the first year is often limited, and it is advised to cut the flower stems before flowering in the first spring to strengthen the plant. The long-term preservation can sometimes be delicate.
