Organic farming
Applying sticky tree collars stops the ascent of all types of crawling insects (ants, earwigs, inchworms...) into the crown of fruit trees. In this product, the foam backing adapts even to fissured bark. Each collar installed is reusable; by renewing the glue application, it is water-resistant and proves effective for 2 to 4 weeks. The kit includes 2 strips of 2m (foam + mesh) + 1 tube of 150 ml glue.

Applying Protecta Rampastop tree collar with glue base prevents all types of crawling insects (ants, caterpillars, earwigs) from climbing into the crown of fruit trees and reaching the fruits they feast upon. This barrier provides complete protection, and its foam backing adapts even to fissured bark. This device is easy to install, does not dirty the trunk, is safe for the environment and the fruits, reusable, and water-resistant. It is effective for around 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the conditions of use. 100% reasoned pest control product, usable in Organic Agriculture.

The pack contains:  2 polyethene foam strips of 2m x 4.5cm + 2 flexible PVC mesh strips of 2m x 4.5 cm + 1 tube of transparent glue of 150 ml composed of poly and isobutene. This will treat the trunk of 12 to 14 trees of approximately 10 cm in diameter.

To protect orchard trees from the damage caused by certain crawling pests, sticky collars are an effective, simple, and environmentally friendly preventive solution. By sticking to the glue as they pass, insects cannot access the leaves, flowers, or fruits. This device, which adapts to all types of bark, can be positioned directly on the trunk or at the base of the largest branches. The glue traps insects such as the winter moth caterpillar, which climbs up trunks in winter to lay its eggs on the branches, halts the progression of ants, which facilitate the establishment and multiplication of aphids, and blocks earwigs, which attack ripe fruits in summer.

Tip: keep the soil weeded at the foot of the trees, and mow the grass to avoid providing crawling insects with passage areas.

Uses and advantages

Main uses This device is used to prevent crawling insects from accessing the aerial parts of trees. It is installed on the trunk. 1. First, wrap the foam around the trunk (at least 40 cm from the ground), pull it taut, secure it with two pins, and cut off the excess. 2. Next, perform the same operation with the green mesh, ensuring the overlap is not in the same place. 3. Once in place, the collar is ready to be coated with glue. Apply two lines of glue to create a better barrier against ants. 4. At the point where the foam strip overlaps, check that there is no possible passage for ants; if there is, apply a few drops of glue to block their path. 5. Check once a month that the collar is not saturated with insects. Reapply glue if necessary. Collar lifespan: until saturated by insects; if needed, the collar can be "re-glued" using the glue tube. Usage periods according to pests: - Against ants, defoliating insects, and larvae: from the appearance of the first leaves and shoots, from March to July. - Against earwigs: 4 to 5 weeks before the ripening of stone fruits. - Against the winter moth (the caterpillar of the winter moth, a pest of pip fruit trees): in autumn, from October to December. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE: keep out of reach of children.
