Planted in full sun. Lovely flowering, quite short. Exceeds 1.5m (5ft) instead of the announced 70 cm (28in). I will have to move it to the back of the flowerbed.

Description
Filipendula purpurea Elegans has feathery inflorescences composed of tiny pink flowers that bloom from June to August on simple or branched stems that stand above the foliage.
A good plant to naturalise in a woodland or to cultivate by the edge of a pond.
Vigorous and highly fragrant, it is spectacular in groups.

Plant Filipendula purpurea Elegans in full sun or light shade, in fertile soil, that remains moist but never waterlogged. Mulch in spring. These young plants are robust and not very demanding as long as they do not lack water.

It will vary according to where you live:
- In zones 9 to 10 (Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.), flowering will occur about 2 to 4 weeks earlier.
- In zones 6 to 7 (Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and lower mountainous regions), flowering will be delayed by 2 to 3 weeks.
- In zone 5 (Central Europe, Scandinavia), blooming will be delayed by 3 to 5 weeks.
In temperate climates, pruning of spring-flowering shrubs (forsythia, spireas, etc.) should be done just after flowering.
