The plants were not very fresh. I hope they will 'take' regardless. I am disappointed in regards to what you describe on the website. Planting and care
Plant your 3 aromatics in full sun, in soil that is rather dry or even rocky, neutral or alkaline. They withstand drought well. Prune the Thyme after flowering, in early autumn, to give it shape. The Sage should be cut back to 25 cm (10in) in late winter, and mulch applied in cold regions. In mild climates, it is evergreen. For the Chives, cut the shoots before flowering occurs to encourage the emergence of new shoots.

It will vary according to where you live:
- In zones 9 to 10 (Italy, Spain, Greece, etc.), flowering will occur about 2 to 4 weeks earlier.
- In zones 6 to 7 (Germany, Poland, Slovenia, and lower mountainous regions), flowering will be delayed by 2 to 3 weeks.
