Directions for use A spade is an essential tool designed to aerate and loosen the soil. It allows you to lift, turn, loosen, and crumble the soil deeply. Fertiliser (well-decomposed compost, organic fertiliser, horse manure, etc.) can be incorporated into the soil at the same time it is turned. With its sharp edges, it is also used for digging, cutting roots, or pulling out vegetable plants (leeks, potatoes, carrots, turnips). We recommend cleaning it with a hard brush after each use. Store it away from moisture. Sand the handle once a year with fine sandpaper and oil it with a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine. You can dilute it half and half. Use boiled linseed oil for faster drying of the handle.
