Description

This Summer Elves Meadow Flower Mix brings together 22 species of rather low, flowering and colourful annual plants, allowing you to create a meadow-like and very flowery bed in just a few weeks throughout the summer. The seeds are sown in spring, in well-prepared and loosened soil, in a sunny location. Flowering occurs from June to September depending on the sowing date.

The annual plants that make up this mix flower abundantly 6 to 8 weeks after sowing, without requiring much maintenance. Some of them will spontaneously reseed themselves in the garden in light soil. The height of the plants does not exceed 50 cm (19.7 in).

Partial composition: Centaurea cyanus, Calendula officinalis, Eschscholtzia californica, Gilia leptantha, etc.

The meadow flower mix is very trendy and combines usefulness with pleasure: flowering throughout the summer season, it has a bucolic charm, promotes biodiversity, and is water-saving. Occasional watering during very dry periods will be sufficient to obtain numerous flowers. Ideal for adding a rural and natural touch to the garden, this Summer Elves mix offers nectar-rich and honey-rich flowers, providing a significant source of food for pollinating insects. Invite nature into your garden: sow our flower mixes near the house, along a path, in a slightly neglected area of the garden, on the slope bordering a sunken path, or at the back of the garden bordering the countryside.

Planting and care

Dig to promote root growth.

• Cultivate, rake, level, and remove stones and weeds.

• Thoroughly mix the contents of the packet.

• Sow by broadcasting as for a lawn.

• Roll or compact the soil with the back of a spade.

• Water and keep moist until germination.

To control weeds, sow the meadow on the day of soil preparation. After germination, water once a week for 6 weeks.

When young plants appear, water well and remove weeds. In autumn, at the end of flowering, seeds can be collected and stored for sowing the following year.

Watering during dry spells will encourage flower production.
