Description

This Purple Chic Mix for beds brings together a beautiful collection of summer flowering annuals in a rich palette of purple, violet, mauve or lilac tones, brightened up by a few blooms in shades of yellow, anis or white. They give a chic yet natural look to the the wilder areas of the garden, all without requiring any maintenance. Sown in spring, they will flower from July to September-October and some of them will spontaneously self-seed wherever they like.

This selection consists of 28 varieties of annual flowering plants, including cornflower Black Ball, Malope, common mallow, Laya or Silene, Cosmos, Bidens, corn marigold, annual Coreopsis, golden Marguerite, rose campion or pot marigold. All these plants demonstrate rapid growth and easily naturalize by spontaneous self-seeding in the garden, in ordinary, well-drained soil. One packet of seeds covers about 3 square metres. The size of the plants varies from 60 to 90 cm in height.

Wildflower meadows are very trendy. This beautiful alternative to grass lawns, blooms all throughout the summer months and requires little maintenance. Ideal for adding a touch of elegance to wilder, very sunny areas, to a bed or wildflower meadow, this Purple Chic mix is sown in spring, in well-prepared soil. Its flowers are often nectar-rich or melliferous, providing a significant source of food for foraging insects. Invite nature into your garden: sow our flower mix along paths, on a slope bordering a sunken path, or at the back of garden, providing an effect transition with the countryside landscape.

Planting and care

Sowing instructions:

Sow directly in their final positions, from March to early June, once the earth has warmed up, in a weed-free soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow thinly on the surface of the soil and rake it lightly to cover the seeds. You can also sow at a depth of 1.5 mm, in drills spaced 30 cm apart. Germination normally takes 14-21 days.

Growing instructions :

When the seedlings appear, water well and remove weeds. In the autumn, when the plants have finished flowering and after having collected their seeds, they can be directly sown in the same place after having prepared the soil. Water well to make the seeds adhere to the soil.
