The photos posted by Promesse de Fleurs are not very representative of the actual colour. I thought they would be more orange than red. But the actual colour is indeed a vibrant red (see customer photos). Analysis of the translated text: - No spelling errors. - The grammar and sentence structure are correct. - The language used is appropriate and maintains the same tone as the original text. - The botanical term "fleur" has been translated as "flower" correctly. - The botanical term "col" has been translated as "neck" correctly. - The botanical term "rang" has not been used in the original text, so no translation was needed. - The translated text accurately conveys the meaning and context of the original text.

Description

This tulip evokes the pure and intense red of Seville.

Tulipa Sevilla is a warm variety that will bring a touch of vitality to your flower beds. This majestic tulip with a narrow corolla has pure and intense red petals with orange reflections, evoking Seville and combining wonderfully with other vibrant colours. The flowers stand tall on thick and sturdy stems, 45 cm (18in) high, above the broadly lanceolate green and deciduous leaves. It blooms in the heart of spring, from April onwards.

Tulipa Sevilla belongs to the Liliaceae family. Originally horticultural, it is currently classified in the 'Triumph' group, whose main characteristic is flowers with a narrow cup shape. They are the result of cross-breeding between early single tulips and Darwin tulips. Triumph tulips are famous for their wide range of colours and strong and resistant flowers, suitable for flower beds and cut flowers. They are among the most planted varieties.

Tulips are unmatched for bringing spring colour to pots or sunny gardens, but remember to consider the height and flowering period when designing your flower beds, as these parameters vary significantly from one cultivar to another. It is a good idea to plant a few more bulbs for beautiful cut flowers that last a long time in a vase.

Tulip species are found in most of the Old World, from Western Europe to China and Japan, passing through Eastern Europe, Asia Minor, and Central Asia. Their distribution range also includes North Africa and the Indian subcontinent. The centre of diversity of the genus is in the Pamir and Hindu Kush mountains and the steppes of Kazakhstan.

There are various wild species, many of which are endangered. They are either large tulips from cultivated fields, the most well-known being the Agen tulip (Tulipa agenensis), or small tulips found in wooded areas or among rocks in the mountains. In cultivation, they are called "botanical tulips", and one of the most common is the wild tulip (Tulipa sylvestris), which often used to grow sheltered by vines and whose subspecies australis is known as the southern tulip.

Planting and care

Plant the bulbs in autumn, from September to December, at a depth of 15 cm (6in), 10 cm (4in) apart in ordinary, slightly acidic, neutral, or slightly chalky, loose, well-worked, and well-drained soil. Never add poorly decomposed manure or compost to the planting soil, as this could cause the bulbs to rot. The Triumph tulip will grow well in moist to dry soil in a sunny or partially shaded location. After flowering, their foliage becomes unsightly and faded. We recommend planting Heucheras, Tiarelles, Brunneras, Bleeding Hearts, Euphorbia Cyparissia, in the foreground of your flower beds, as their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips and elegantly hide their yellowed leaves. Red is not very common in the garden, so take advantage of the wide range of tulips available in this colour. Red tulips will be elegantly enhanced by dark green foliage, such as a Yew or Box hedge or the dark foliage of Obsidian Heucheras.
