Description

The Himalayan perennial Geranium 'Plenum' is one of the few perennial geraniums with double flowers. They are 3 cm (1in) in diameter and have violet petals tinged with lavender blue. They then turn lilac pink streaked with purple.

It blooms generously for one month, from May to June, then continues sporadically until the first frost. As its flowering period is relatively short, you should combine it with other perennial geraniums that will take over.

Easy to grow, plant it in a partially shaded flowerbed with rich and moist soil.

Planting and care

To install, work the soil to a depth of 20 cubic cm, crumbling the soil well and adding a base amendment such as dried blood or crushed horn at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your young plant, removed from its pot, by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil, fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root establishment.
