Rosa floribunda Manou Meilland - Floribunda Rose

The Clustered Rose Manou Meilland® 'Meitulimon' is a remarkable variety celebrated for the brilliance of its flowers and generous flowering. Its vivid Bengal pink (slightly bluish) roses captivate with their intense hue, slightly lighter on the reverse of the petals. Gathered in clusters of 2 to 5 flowers, they display a classic turbinate form which blooms gracefully throughout the season. From May until the first frosts, this variety offers a continuous floral display combining early flowering and abundance. Its moderate fragrance adds a delicate touch to its charm. With a bushy and well-ramified habit, it is fairly modest in size, making it ideal for flower beds and borders.

The Manou Meilland® 'Meitulimon' rose belongs to the Rosaceae family and the Floribunda group resulting from hybridisations between polyantha roses and hybrid teas, and stands out for its perpetual and continuous blooming. Its early flowering enables it to bloom abundantly from spring, ensuring a colourful garden early in the season. Approximately 10 cm in diameter, the flowers retain their turbinate form upon opening before blooming more widely, revealing an elegant and refined structure. The dense and satin-like, dark green foliage provides the perfect setting for its successive blooms. Highly resistant to common rose diseases, the Manou Meilland® requires only moderate maintenance to thrive. Its compact and bushy silhouette reaching 60 to 70 cm in height and 40 to 50 cm in spread makes it an excellent choice for structuring a flowering bed or accentuating a border. It develops harmoniously in varied conditions, tolerating both temperate climates and more pronounced sunny exposures. The 'Meitulimon' rose has been awarded in numerous international competitions, a testament to its exceptional quality.

To successfully cultivate the Manou Meilland Rose, it is recommended to plant it in full sun, in rich, well-drained, and deep soil. It tolerates a fairly wide range of soils, but organic enrichment at planting will encourage more abundant flowering. In flower beds, it can be paired with perennials in soft hues such as bellflowers or hardy geraniums, which will highlight the intensity of its flowers. It also complements low bushes like lavenders or perovskias, adding a contrast in textures and a sense of lightness. In borders or as a standalone, it elegantly structures a small garden. For a sophisticated and refined effect, it can be planted alongside white roses such a an 'Iceberg', creating a luminous and elegant contrast. For a more natural and rustic scene, it harmonises with light ornamental grasses like a  Stipa tenuissima, whose airy movements will soften the intensity of the rosebush's flowers.
