Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the rose bush I received appears to be healthy. Planted near a arbustus unedo, I am now patiently awaiting its growth...or not?" Analysis: - "rosier" is translated as "rose bush" to specify the type of plant. - "Mis en terre" is translated as "planted" to indicate that the rose bush has been put in the ground. - "arbustus unedo" is kept as is, as it is a specific plant name. - "j'attends maintenant patiemment la reprise...(ou pas ?)" is translated as "I am now patiently awaiting its growth...or not?" to convey the sense of anticipation and uncertainty.

Description

Rose Tobago Odore has certainly been named so because of the fragrance of its roses, which emit hints of sweet and indulgent tobacco. Its double flowers resemble large ivory-white peonies, subtly tinged with pink on the edges. The well-branched bush bears beautiful dark green foliage resistant to diseases. It blooms until the first frosts, with a good repeat flowering. It is ideal in the garden, in a large pot, or in bouquets. This lovely creation will not disappoint.

Rose Tobago Odore is a very recent creation, introduced to the market in 2022. It forms a well-branched bush, with a rapid growth rate, which will eventually reach a height of about 80cm (32in), with a spread of 60cm (24in)From May-June, until late in the season, it bears 10cm (4in) diameter roses that are carried by long thorny stems. They are composed of multiple petals that open in a slightly flattened cup shape. Their powerful fragrance is more noticeable in warm and calm weather. Their fragrance has notes of jasmine and hyacinth, with an aromatic base of Amsterdam tobacco. This rose's disease resistance is excellent. This small deciduous and hardy shrub loses its leaves in autumn. It will thrive when planted in rich, deep soil that remains slightly moist in summer.

Rose Tobago Odore will be wonderful in a large rose bed, at the front of a shrub bed, or planted in groups of 3 specimens in a well-kept small garden. The almost white colour of its flowers blends well with all the other blooms in the garden. Consider planting it near easy-to-grow plants such as perennial geraniums (Geranium 'Blue Cloud', G. 'Anne Folkard', G. 'Nimbus', G. 'Orion'), campanulas (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmintsperennial salvias, perovskia, and caryopteris. Dwarf butterfly bushes also make lovely companions for bush roses. Its flowers can be used to create warm bouquets for the home.

Planting and care

Choose a sunny exposure or partial shade in very hot regions. Work the soil to a depth of 25cm (10in), crumble the soil well, and place a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant, removed from its pot, and cover the top of the root ball with 3cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Provide your rose with special rose fertiliser that stimulates flowering in plants.
