A Perennial rhizomatous plant of partial shade which spreads slowly.  It is capable of living for a very long time when in a perfect position. It particularly likes a soil rich in humus and without limestone, that is moist in spring, but it can tolerate summer drought.  Grow it at the edge of a shade bed where its airy flowering will brighten the arear for over a month.
