Manufacturer warranty
A very robust, all-steel weed knife, 2 mm thick. It has a long blade with a sharp and forked tip that penetrates the soil effortlessly and allows for deep work. It is an ideal tool for removing weeds, especially when they have long taproots.

The metal sharpened weeding knife from Spear & Jackson is a robust tool designed to weed with maximum efficiency. Made entirely of steel, it has a long blade with a sharpened and forked end that penetrates the soil easily and deeply to extract the long pivot roots of certain 'weeds' that are particularly difficult to eradicate. This tool is also equipped with a 15cm contoured handle that provides optimal grip.

The weeding knife is designed for precise weeding of small plots, as well as for harvesting asparagus or root vegetables. This tool particularly excels when it comes to removing taproots, which are deeply anchored in the soil and difficult to pull out without breaking them. They are found, for example, in carrots, parsnips, and oak trees, as well as in many 'weeds' such as dandelions, plantains, thistles, sow thistles, or dock leaves. To destroy this type of plant, it is necessary to remove at least the first 5-7 centimetres of the root along with the leaf rosette, sometimes the entire root. In general, leaving a small part of the root deep in the soil will not allow the undesirable plant to survive. The sharp tip of the long blade should be pushed into the soil at the collar of the plant, while turning and pressing on the handle at the same time. The blade descends all around the root and cuts the rootlets, then just pull it out of the soil.

Ideal tool for weeding
Directions for use The weeding knife is an essential tool for removing taproots, which are deeply rooted in the soil and difficult to pull out without breaking them. They are found in many 'weeds' such as dandelions, plantains, thistles, sowthistles, comfrey, wild chervil, celandine, purslane, picris, and dock. To destroy this type of plant, it is necessary to remove at least the first 5-7 centimetres of the root along with the leaf rosette, or even pull it out completely in some cases. This tool can also be used for harvesting asparagus or root vegetables (salsify...). Work after rain or watering, as moistened soil will be easier to weed or dig. It is also better to work on young plants, whose roots will be less developed and have not had time to reseed. Insert the weeding knife into the soil at the base of the plant's neck (at the base of the leaves, at ground level), while turning and pressing on the handle, as if using a knife. The blade descends all around the root and cuts the rootlets, leaving only the task of pulling it all out of the soil.
